Glass fibre filament imports into Austria soared to X tons in 2021, increasing by 21% on 2020 figures. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, glass fibre filament imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible reduction. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Slovakia (X tons), France (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of glass fibre filament imports to Austria, with a combined 77% share of total imports. Germany, Romania, Bahrain, Brazil and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of +80.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Slovakia ($X), France ($X) and Belgium ($X) were the largest glass fibre filament suppliers to Austria, together comprising 75% of total imports. Germany, Romania, Brazil, Bahrain and China lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.
