Oleo Oils Market Size in Austria

The Austrian oleo oils market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2021, after three years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw a pronounced reduction. From 2012 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Romania totaled +97.6%.

In value terms, Romania ($X) remains the key foreign market for lard stearin, lard oil, oleostearin, oleo-oil and tallow oil exports from Austria, comprising 100% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 0.2% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2019, the average annual growth rate of value to Romania stood at +93.4%.

The average oleo oils export price stood at $X per ton in 2019, with an increase of 9% against the previous year. In general, the export price enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 75% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2019, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2019, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands amounted to $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (-2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

After three years of decline, overseas purchases of lard stearin, lard oil, oleostearin, oleo-oil and tallow oil increased by 347% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a deep setback. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, oleo oils imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable downturn. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of oleo oils to Austria, with a 83% share of total imports. Moreover, oleo oils imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), fivefold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany stood at -8.9%.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of lard stearin, lard oil, oleostearin, oleo-oil and tallow oil to Austria, comprising 84% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 16% share of total imports.
