The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 15% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-wheat flour exports rose slightly to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a mild curtailment. Italy (X tons), Croatia (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of non-wheat flour exports from Austria, with a combined 51% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Romania and Serbia, which together accounted for a further 39%.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +127.0% against 2014 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
