Hungary (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) were the main destinations of titanium dioxide exports from Austria, with a combined 68% share of total exports. Belgium, the Czech Republic, the UK, Slovenia and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, titanium dioxide imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 74% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest titanium dioxide supplier to Austria, accounting for a 60% share of total imports. Moreover, titanium dioxide imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Japan (X tons), with a 13% share.
