Bottled Water Market Size in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani bottled water market reduced modestly to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -4.4% against the previous year. Russia (X tons) was the main destination for bottled water exports from Azerbaijan, accounting for a 55% share of total exports. Moreover, bottled water exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Turkey (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia totaled -7.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+112.7% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+106.4% per year).

The average bottled water export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 6.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a slight decline. After four years of growth, purchases abroad of bottled waters decreased by -17.8% to X tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 32%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined markedly in the following year.

In value terms, bottled water imports dropped modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 22%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Russia (X tons), Georgia (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main suppliers of bottled water imports to Azerbaijan, together comprising 98% of total imports.
