For the third year in a row, Azerbaijan recorded growth in supplies from abroad of common clay, which increased by 34% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 152%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, common clay imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed moderate growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 123% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of common clay to Azerbaijan, with a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, common clay imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), twofold.
