Concentrated Orange Juice Market Size in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani concentrated orange juice market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2021, after two years of decline. Overall, exports posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 2,709%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, concentrated orange juice exports reached $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 2,022%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia (X tons) was the main destination for concentrated orange juice exports from Azerbaijan, accounting for a 74% share of total exports. Moreover, concentrated orange juice exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United States (X kg), threefold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Russia totaled +44.2%.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for concentrated orange juice exports from Azerbaijan, comprising 88% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 12% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Russia stood at +50.2%.

The average concentrated orange juice export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, which is down by -28.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a perceptible slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 121%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States amounted to $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+132.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of concentrated orange juice increased by 58% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a temperate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 78%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, concentrated orange juice imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Israel (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of concentrated orange juice imports to Azerbaijan, together accounting for 60% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Israel (with a CAGR of +38.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest concentrated orange juice suppliers to Azerbaijan were Brazil ($X), Israel ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 66% share of total imports.

Israel, with a CAGR of +39.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average concentrated orange juice import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 4.6% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 27%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
