In value terms, dry bean imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 114%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Uzbekistan (X tons) constituted the largest dry bean supplier to Azerbaijan, with a 86% share of total imports. Moreover, dry bean imports from Uzbekistan exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Brazil (X tons), more than tenfold. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Uzbekistan amounted to +30.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Brazil (+61.9% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+40.7% per year).

In 2022, the average dry bean import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 4.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 100% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) and Turkey ($X per ton), while the price for Brazil ($X per ton) and Uzbekistan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
