In 2021, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest baby food supplier to Azerbaijan, accounting for a 36% share of total imports. Moreover, baby food imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), threefold. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Russia amounted to -1.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (-5.4% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+96.4% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of food preparations for infants to Azerbaijan, comprising 28% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Russia totaled -3.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (-9.7% per year) and Poland (+13.3% per year).

The average baby food import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 13% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
