In value terms, non-domestic dryer exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Tajikistan (X units) was the main destination for non-domestic dryer exports from Azerbaijan, accounting for a 77% share of total exports. Moreover, non-domestic dryer exports to Tajikistan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Georgia (X units), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Turkey (X units), with a 9.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Tajikistan was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Georgia (+21.9% per year) and Turkey (+56.3% per year).

In value terms, Tajikistan ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for non-domestic dryers exports from Azerbaijan, comprising 86% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with an 8.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Georgia, with a 2.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Tajikistan was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+69.1% per year) and Georgia (+26.3% per year).

In 2021, the average non-domestic dryer export price amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 309% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a buoyant expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of non-domestic dryers decreased by -73.9% to X units, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a pronounced decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 609% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-domestic dryer imports dropped sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a slight decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 402%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Turkey (X units) constituted the largest non-domestic dryer supplier to Azerbaijan, accounting for a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, non-domestic dryer imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Ukraine (X units), fivefold. China (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Turkey amounted to +3.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Ukraine (+13.1% per year) and China (-17.9% per year).

In value terms, the largest non-domestic dryer suppliers to Azerbaijan were Ukraine ($X), Turkey ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 61% share of total imports. Bulgaria, China, India and Georgia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.

India, with a CAGR of +54.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-domestic dryer import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 4.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, non-domestic dryer import price decreased by -20.9% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 67%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per unit), while the price for Georgia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
