Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, radar apparatus exports declined markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 8,448%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The Netherlands (X units), the UK (X units) and France (X units) were the main destinations of radar apparatus exports from Azerbaijan, with a combined 75% share of total exports. Belgium and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 23%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of +266.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the UK ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Belgium ($X) constituted the largest markets for radar apparatus exported from Azerbaijan worldwide, with a combined 69% share of total exports. The Philippines and France lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

Among the main countries of destination, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +650.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average radar apparatus export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -60.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 178% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then contracted notably in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to France ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+119.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus, when their volume increased by 322% to X units. Over the period under review, imports saw resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 660%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, radar apparatus imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 411% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

Germany (X units), Spain (X units) and China (X units) were the main suppliers of radar apparatus imports to Azerbaijan, with a combined 83% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for China (with a CAGR of +57.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Spain ($X), Germany ($X) and the United States ($X) were the largest radar apparatus suppliers to Azerbaijan, with a combined 72% share of total imports. France, China and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 215%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
