The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Georgia (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) were the main destinations of sweet biscuit exports from Azerbaijan, with a combined 70% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Russia (with a CAGR of +87.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Georgia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for sweet biscuits exports from Azerbaijan, comprising 34% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with an 8.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Georgia totaled +16.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (+49.5% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (-2.5% per year).

The average sweet biscuit export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 28% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, sweet biscuit export price decreased by -15.9% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 88% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Djibouti ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tajikistan (+38.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Azerbaijan
In 2021, the amount of sweet biscuits imported into Azerbaijan soared to X tons, jumping by 30% on 2020 figures. In general, imports showed a buoyant increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, sweet biscuit imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 131% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Iran (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the main suppliers of sweet biscuit imports to Azerbaijan, with a combined 80% share of total imports. Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +68.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest sweet biscuit suppliers to Azerbaijan were Turkey ($X), Russia ($X) and Ukraine ($X), together comprising 72% of total imports. Iran, Kazakhstan and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +83.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average sweet biscuit import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 82% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while the price for Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+23.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
