For the third consecutive year, Azerbaijan recorded decline in supplies from abroad of worked flat glass, which decreased by -28.7% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 462% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, worked flat glass imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 817% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Iran (X tons) were the main suppliers of worked flat glass imports to Azerbaijan, with a combined 93% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, China, Ukraine and Spain, which together accounted for a further 6.1%.
