After three years of growth, the Bahraini domestic toaster market decreased by -8.5% to $X in 2022. In general, consumption recorded a mild contraction. Saudi Arabia (X units) was the main destination for domestic toaster exports from Bahrain, accounting for a 83% share of total exports. Moreover, domestic toaster exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X units), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Saudi Arabia totaled -39.0%.

In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for domestic electric toasters exports from Bahrain, comprising 74% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 2.1% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Saudi Arabia totaled -37.2%.

Export Prices by Country

The average domestic toaster export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 47% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 82% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates totaled $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of domestic electric toasters, when their volume decreased by -14.9% to X units. In general, imports saw a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, domestic toaster imports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, China (X units) was the main domestic toaster supplier to Bahrain, accounting for a 98% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), with a 0.4% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China was relatively modest.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of domestic electric toasters to Bahrain, comprising 95% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 0.5% share of total imports.
