Saudi Arabia (X tons) was the main destination for dry vegetable exports from Bahrain, with a 85% share of total exports. Moreover, dry vegetable exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), sevenfold.

In value terms, the largest markets for dry vegetable exported from Bahrain were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Kuwait ($X), with a combined 90% share of total exports.
Saudi Arabia, with a CAGR of +36.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average dry vegetable export price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 124%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kuwait (-0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Bahrain
Dry vegetable imports into Bahrain dropped modestly to X tons in 2022, falling by -3.7% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 161% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, dry vegetable imports shrank to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 113% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
Imports by Country
India (X tons), China (X tons) and Pakistan (X tons) were the main suppliers of dry vegetable imports to Bahrain, with a combined 81% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Pakistan (with a CAGR of +35.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of dry vegetables to Bahrain, comprising 41% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 7.9% share.
