In value terms, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 1,565% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The United States (X tons), Kuwait (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X kg) were the main destinations of halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exports from Bahrain, with a combined 96% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the United States (with a CAGR of +48.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for halogenated derivatives of hydrocarbons exports from Bahrain, comprising 88% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kuwait ($X), with a 7% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 52% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

India (X tons), China (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of halogenated hydrocarbon derivative imports to Bahrain, together accounting for 94% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by India (with a CAGR of -4.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, the largest halogenated hydrocarbon derivative suppliers to Bahrain were India ($X), China ($X) and the United States ($X), with a combined 94% share of total imports. France, South Korea and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 2.5%.

Over the period under review, import price indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
