Turkey (X units) was the main destination for non-electric pulley tackle exports from Bahrain, accounting for a 59% share of total exports. Moreover, non-electric pulley tackle exports to Turkey exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X units), fivefold. Saudi Arabia (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 7.2% share.

The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the UK amounted to +33.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (0.0% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-10.3% per year).

In 2022, the amount of pulley tackle and hoists, non-powered by electric motor imported into Bahrain contracted notably to X units, which is down by -38.9% compared with 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 329% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-electric pulley tackle imports reduced markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 297%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of non-electric pulley tackle to Bahrain, accounting for a 71% share of total imports.
