In value terms, exports of acrylic polymers, in primary forms (excluding polymethyl methacrylate) shrank to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 240%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.

Vietnam (X tons) was the main destination for exports of acrylic polymers, in primary forms (excluding polymethyl methacrylate) from Bangladesh, with a 47% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates (X kg), with a 1.1% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Vietnam stood at +5.2%.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of acrylic polymers, in primary forms (excluding polymethyl methacrylate) decreased by -0.8% to X tons for the first time since 2013, thus ending a seven-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
