Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ceramic household article exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed strong growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Egypt (X tons) were the main destinations of ceramic household article exports from Bangladesh, with a combined 28% share of total exports. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 14%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Ceramic household article imports into Bangladesh surged to X tons in 2021, jumping by 15% on 2020. In general, imports, however, saw a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 869% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, ceramic household article imports amounted to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 1,398%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
