Switzerland (X kg) was the main destination for color printing ink exports from Bangladesh, with a 99% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands (X kg), with a 0.1% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Switzerland amounted to +16.2%.

In value terms, Switzerland ($X) remains the key foreign market for color printing ink exports from Bangladesh, comprising 99% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 0.1% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Switzerland amounted to +37.2%.

The average color printing ink export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 147% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland amounted to $X per ton.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, color printing ink imports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 39%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of color printing ink to Bangladesh, accounting for a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, color printing ink imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by South Korea (X tons), with an 8.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from India totaled +5.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+97.0% per year) and South Korea (+7.1% per year).

In 2022, the average color printing ink import price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 12% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
