Myanmar (X tons), the United States (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) were the main destinations of prepared dish and meal exports from Bangladesh, with a combined 28% share of total exports.

In 2021, overseas purchases of prepared dishes and meals decreased by -37.1% to X tons for the first time since 2013, thus ending a seven-year rising trend. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

China (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) were the main suppliers of prepared dish and meal imports to Bangladesh, together comprising 32% of total imports. Malaysia, Poland, India, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and France lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.
