From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Bangladesh
For the third year in a row, Bangladesh recorded growth in overseas purchases of glucose and glucose syrup, which increased by 9.6% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 76%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, glucose imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) was the main glucose supplier to Bangladesh, with a 96% share of total imports. It was followed by India (X tons), with a 1.5% share of total imports.
