The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +44.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-knitted men apparel exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports posted strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 45%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
The United States (X units) was the main destination for non-knitted men apparel exports from Bangladesh, accounting for a 27% share of total exports. Moreover, non-knitted men apparel exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X units), threefold. Over the period under review, imports posted a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 143% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-knitted men apparel imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed a measured increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 141%. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest non-knitted men apparel supplier to Bangladesh, accounting for a 56% share of total imports. Moreover, non-knitted men apparel imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X units), threefold.
