The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 144% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest motorcycle and bicycle supplier to Bangladesh, with a 83% share of total imports. Moreover, motorcycle and bicycle imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X units), fivefold.
