India (X tons), Nepal (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of sauce and seasoning exports from Bangladesh, together comprising 26% of total exports. The United States, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius, Singapore, Madagascar, Australia, Cambodia, the UK, the Philippines and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 39%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Cambodia (with a CAGR of +151.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Bangladesh
In 2021, supplies from abroad of sauces and seasonings was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports continue to indicate prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 103% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
