Nigeria (X tons), Greece (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main destinations of iron household articles exports from Bangladesh, with a combined 38% share of total exports. Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Canada, the UK, New Zealand, Kuwait, Guatemala, the United States and Montenegro lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by New Zealand (with a CAGR of +209.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kuwait ($X), Spain ($X) and New Zealand ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for iron household articles exported from Bangladesh worldwide, with a combined 32% share of total exports.

New Zealand, with a CAGR of +200.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, iron household articles imports dropped to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 472% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest iron household articles supplier to Bangladesh, accounting for a 82% share of total imports. Moreover, iron household articles imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), sevenfold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled +50.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+57.4% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+40.1% per year).
