Amino Resin Market Size in Belarus

After two years of growth, the Belarusian amino resin market decreased by -12.7% to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, consumption, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, amino resin exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, faced a dramatic curtailment. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Russia (X tons) was the main destination for amino resin exports from Belarus, accounting for a 63% share of total exports. Moreover, amino resin exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Lithuania (X tons), fourfold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Russia stood at -31.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Lithuania (-0.2% per year) and Ukraine (+3.8% per year).

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for amino resins exports from Belarus, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Lithuania ($X), with a 23% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, purchases abroad of amino resins decreased by -4.9% to X tons for the first time since 2011, thus ending a ten-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 52% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, amino resin imports fell significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 86% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

Belgium (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the main suppliers of amino resin imports to Belarus, with a combined 59% share of total imports. Germany, Saudi Arabia, Spain and China lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +52.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Belgium ($X), Hungary ($X) and Russia ($X) appeared to be the largest amino resin suppliers to Belarus, together accounting for 44% of total imports. Germany, Saudi Arabia, China and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.
