Artificial Corundum Market Size in Belarus

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Belarusian artificial corundum market, when its value decreased by -8.7% to $X. In 2021, after six years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of artificial corundum, when their volume decreased by -19.3% to X tons. In general, imports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 106%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then shrank significantly in the following year.

In value terms, artificial corundum imports shrank slightly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 89% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2020, and then dropped modestly in the following year.

Imports by Country

Brazil (X tons), Ukraine (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the main suppliers of artificial corundum imports to Belarus, together comprising 55% of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China and France, which together accounted for a further 32%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +66.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
