For the third consecutive year, the Belarusian brassiere market recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -7.4% to $X in 2021. Overall, consumption showed a mild curtailment. Brassiere consumption peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, brassiere production rose to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, saw a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Russia (X units) was the main destination for brassiere exports from Belarus, with a 73% share of total exports. Moreover, brassiere exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Latvia (X units), ninefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Kazakhstan (X units), with a 5.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Russia totaled -5.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Latvia (+11.8% per year) and Kazakhstan (+2.3% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for brassieres of textile materials, whether or not elasticated exports from Belarus, comprising 70% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 7.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Latvia, with a 6.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Russia totaled -7.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (+1.7% per year) and Latvia (+11.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average brassiere export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 3.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Moldova (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Belarus
In 2021, approx. X units of brassieres of textile materials, whether or not elasticated were imported into Belarus; rising by 31% against the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 74%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, brassiere imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -3.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 70%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China (X units), Russia (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of brassiere imports to Belarus, with a combined 66% share of total imports. Latvia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Serbia, Italy and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +129.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest brassiere suppliers to Belarus were Russia ($X), Latvia ($X) and China ($X), with a combined 73% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Poland, Turkey, Bangladesh, Serbia, Italy and Ukraine, which together accounted for a further 18%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +105.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average brassiere import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -10.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 27% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per unit), while the price for Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
