Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
In value terms, ceramic household article exports soared to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Russia (X tons) was the main destination for ceramic household article exports from Belarus, accounting for a 93% share of total exports. It was followed by Ukraine (X tons), with a 2.6% share of total exports. The third position in this ranking was held by Germany (X tons), with a 2.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Russia stood at +12.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (+11.8% per year) and Germany (+30.0% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for ceramic household articles and toilet articles exports from Belarus, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ukraine ($X), with a 2.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 2.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Russia amounted to +4.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (+6.6% per year) and Germany (+25.2% per year).

In 2021, the average ceramic household article export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a deep setback. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Belarus
In 2021, purchases abroad of ceramic household articles and toilet articles decreased by -12.2% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. In general, imports, however, posted a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 142%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, ceramic household article imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 80% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest ceramic household article supplier to Belarus, with a 56% share of total imports. Moreover, ceramic household article imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Russia (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the Czech Republic (X tons), with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at +11.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (+23.8% per year) and the Czech Republic (+73.7% per year).
In value terms, China ($X), Russia ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) were the largest ceramic household article suppliers to Belarus, together comprising 82% of total imports.
The Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +41.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average ceramic household article import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a abrupt decline. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
