Other Cereals Market Size in Belarus

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 130%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Ukraine (X tons) was the main destination for other cereals exports from Belarus, accounting for a 92% share of total exports. Moreover, other cereals exports to Ukraine exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kazakhstan (X tons), more than tenfold. Germany (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 2.7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Ukraine was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (-29.4% per year) and Germany (-6.5% per year).

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices to Russia ($X per ton) and Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($X per ton) and Ukraine ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2021, purchases abroad of other cerealses decreased by -12.7% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after three years of growth. Overall, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 2,342%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, other cereals imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 1,706%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
