The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 276%. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
China (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Serbia (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of chemical wood pulp (soda and sulphate, other than dissolving grades) from Belarus, together accounting for 80% of total exports. These countries were followed by Ukraine, India, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, which together accounted for a further 11%.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a deep setback. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 40%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Russia (X tons), Finland (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of chemical wood pulp (soda and sulphate, other than dissolving grades) to Belarus, together comprising 61% of total imports. These countries were followed by Lithuania, Sweden, the United States, Uruguay and Slovakia, which together accounted for a further 35%.
