In 2021, the Belarusian direct dye market increased by 13% to $X, rising for the fourth consecutive year after five years of decline. In 2021, overseas purchases of direct dyes and preparations based thereon increased by 11% to X tons, rising for the fourth year in a row after five years of decline. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 56%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, direct dye imports rose notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 57%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
