As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then reduced notably in the following year.
In value terms, expanded clays imports expanded to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 521%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of expanded clays to Belarus, with a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, expanded clays imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Ukraine (X tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the United States (X tons), with a 4.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Russia amounted to +38.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Ukraine (+38.1% per year) and the United States (+46.1% per year).
