Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 22% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, baby food exports rose remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Russia (X tons) was the main destination for baby food exports from Belarus, with a 43% share of total exports. Moreover, baby food exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Uzbekistan (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Pakistan (X tons), with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Russia stood at -7.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+43.4% per year) and Pakistan (+24.6% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for food preparations for infants exports from Belarus, comprising 37% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Pakistan, with a 16% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia stood at -11.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+36.7% per year) and Pakistan (+21.4% per year).

In 2021, the average baby food export price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -7.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a pronounced reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 12%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Azerbaijan (-2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Belarus
In 2021, purchases abroad of food preparations for infants decreased by -4.7% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 62% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, baby food imports declined modestly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -0.1% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 67% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Russia (X tons) was the main baby food supplier to Belarus, with a 96% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands (X tons), with a 2% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Russia stood at +9.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (-16.6% per year) and Germany (-13.6% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of food preparations for infants to Belarus, comprising 95% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 2.1% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia amounted to +4.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-9.6% per year) and the Netherlands (-19.6% per year).

In 2021, the average baby food import price amounted to $X per ton, flattening at the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 12%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
