Honey Market Size in Belarus

For the fifth consecutive year, the Belarusian honey market recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -2.1% to $X in 2022. In general, consumption recorded a perceptible downturn. Honey consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, honey production contracted modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, showed a abrupt slump. In 2022, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of honey, when their volume decreased by -46.5% to X tons. In general, exports, however, posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 2,162% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.

In value terms, honey exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 1,825% against the previous year. The United States (X tons) was the main destination for honey exports from Belarus, accounting for a 91% share of total exports. Moreover, honey exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Russia (X tons), more than tenfold.
