Poland (X tons), Estonia (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main destinations of industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids exports from Belarus, with a combined 93% share of total exports. Lithuania, Russia, Denmark and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.2%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +5.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Estonia ($X), Poland ($X) and Ukraine ($X) were the largest markets for industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids exported from Belarus worldwide, together comprising 94% of total exports. Imports into Belarus
In 2021, after five years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids, when their volume decreased by -45.1% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 367% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020, and then shrank significantly in the following year.
In value terms, industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids imports declined notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 324% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

In 2021, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids to Belarus, accounting for a 61% share of total imports. Moreover, industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X tons), twofold. India (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia totaled +34.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (+17.6% per year) and India (+0.3% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids to Belarus, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Malaysia ($X), with a 23% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with an 8.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia amounted to +24.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (+10.5% per year) and India (+1.7% per year).
