In 2021, supplies from abroad of malt (not roasted) increased by 6.2% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 826% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, malt imports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 516% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of malt imports to Belarus, with a combined 87% share of total imports.
