Nitrites Market Size in Belarus

The Belarusian nitrites market rose significantly to $X in 2021, surging by 14% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a noticeable slump. Nitrites consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, nitrites exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -13.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 87%. Uzbekistan (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Georgia (X tons) were the main destinations of nitrites exports from Belarus, with a combined 95% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Armenia, which accounted for a further 5.1%.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of nitrites, when their volume increased by 21% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt descent. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, nitrites imports reached $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 39%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Russia (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main suppliers of nitrites imports to Belarus, with a combined 90% share of total imports.
