Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -13.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 87%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Uzbekistan (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Georgia (X tons) were the main destinations of nitrites exports from Belarus, with a combined 95% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Armenia, which accounted for a further 5.1%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Armenia (with a CAGR of +10.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X), Russia ($X) and Georgia ($X) were the largest markets for nitrites exported from Belarus worldwide, with a combined 96% share of total exports.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 66% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Georgia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Armenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+46.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Belarus
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of nitrites, when their volume increased by 21% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt descent. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, nitrites imports reached $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 39%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Russia (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main suppliers of nitrites imports to Belarus, with a combined 90% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Russia (with a CAGR of +22.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, the largest nitrites suppliers to Belarus were Germany ($X), Russia ($X) and Ukraine ($X), with a combined 94% share of total imports.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
