In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the Belarusian pimenta pepper market, when its value decreased by -50.2% to $X. In general, imports, however, posted a noticeable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then fell markedly in the following year.

In value terms, pimenta pepper imports reduced dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a perceptible downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 20%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then plummeted in the following year.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of pimenta pepper to Belarus, with a 80% share of total imports. Moreover, pimenta pepper imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Mexico (X tons), more than tenfold.
