Russia (X units) was the main destination for wood milling machine exports from Belarus, accounting for a 61% share of total exports. Moreover, wood milling machine exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Canada (X units), twofold. Over the period under review, the export price, however, faced a deep downturn. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (-4.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2021, purchases abroad of planing, milling or moulding machines decreased by -33.5% to X units for the first time since 2015, thus ending a five-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 104%. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then fell sharply in the following year.

In value terms, wood milling machine imports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 93% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
