The exports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, polyacetals exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 4,109%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Slovakia (X tons) was the main destination for polyacetals exports from Belarus, accounting for a 77% share of total exports. Moreover, polyacetals exports to Slovakia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Russia (X tons), fourfold. Ukraine (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Slovakia amounted to +33.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (+72.9% per year) and Ukraine (+48.3% per year).

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 91%. After two years of decline, overseas purchases of polyacetals in primary forms increased by 33% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 578% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, polyacetals imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 319% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Russia (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Denmark (X tons) were the main suppliers of polyacetals imports to Belarus, together accounting for 48% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, the United States, South Korea and Lithuania, which together accounted for a further 30%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the United States (with a CAGR of +15.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
