In 2022, overseas shipments of rum were finally on the rise to reach X litres after two years of decline. In general, exports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 256%. The exports peaked at X litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, rum exports expanded significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded buoyant growth. Imports into Belarus

Rum imports into Belarus fell notably to X litres in 2022, dropping by -20.2% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 103%. Imports peaked at X litres in 2021, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Germany, Barbados, Italy, Trinidad and Tobago, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Jamaica and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 39%.

Germany, Italy, the UK, Barbados, France, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, the Netherlands and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.

Among the main suppliers, Italy, with a CAGR of +35.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average rum import price amounted to $X per litre, rising by 35% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per litre in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per litre), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Cuba (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
