In value terms, preserved salmon exports shrank markedly to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, saw pronounced growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 868% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Israel (X kg), Kazakhstan (X kg) and Qatar (X kg) were the main destinations of preserved salmon exports from Belarus, with a combined 87% share of total exports. Russia and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.6%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Singapore (with a CAGR of +237.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Israel ($X), Qatar ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for preserved salmon exported from Belarus worldwide, together comprising 87% of total exports. Russia and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 8.4%.

The average preserved salmon export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 72% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+24.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Belarus
In 2021, imports of salmon (prepared or preserved) into Belarus soared to X tons, with an increase of 48% compared with 2020. Over the period under review, imports posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 149%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, preserved salmon imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 156%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Russia (X tons) was the main supplier of preserved salmon to Belarus, with a 98% share of total imports. It was followed by Latvia (X kg), with a 1.5% share of total imports.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of salmon (prepared or preserved) to Belarus, comprising 98% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Latvia ($X), with a 1.9% share of total imports.
