Organic Pigments Market Size in Belarus

In value terms, organic pigments exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 96% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Russia (X tons) was the main destination for organic pigments exports from Belarus, with a 96% share of total exports. It was followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), with a 3% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Russia stood at +31.9%.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for synthetic organic coloring matter and pigments exports from Belarus, comprising 83% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia amounted to +24.3%.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 69% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia amounted to $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+29.6%).

Imports into Belarus

In 2021, overseas purchases of synthetic organic coloring matter and pigments increased by 5.2% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate slight growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, organic pigments imports amounted to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 29%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia (X tons), India (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of organic pigments imports to Belarus, together accounting for 50% of total imports. Italy, Turkey, China, Germany, Switzerland, Romania, Ukraine, Belgium, Sweden and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 43%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Ukraine (with a CAGR of +64.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest organic pigments suppliers to Belarus were Russia ($X), India ($X) and Switzerland ($X), with a combined 48% share of total imports. These countries were followed by China, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Poland, Romania, Ukraine and Sweden, which together accounted for a further 36%.

In terms of the main suppliers, Ukraine, with a CAGR of +50.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the average organic pigments import price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -4.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per ton), while the price for Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
