In value terms, tractor exports declined markedly to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 58%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Russia (X units) was the main destination for tractor exports from Belarus, accounting for a 57% share of total exports. Moreover, tractor exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kazakhstan (X units), sixfold. Ukraine (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Russia stood at -11.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (-4.9% per year) and Ukraine (-11.8% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for tractors exports from Belarus, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Ukraine, with a 9.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia totaled -12.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (-4.3% per year) and Ukraine (-11.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average tractor export price amounted to $X per unit, rising by 4.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Pakistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Belarus
Tractor imports into Belarus contracted dramatically to X units in 2022, with a decrease of -53.4% against the previous year. In general, imports saw a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 209% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
In value terms, tractor imports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a perceptible descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 241% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped notably in the following year.
Imports by Country
China (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of tractor imports to Belarus, together comprising 73% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for China (with a CAGR of +11.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and Russia ($X) constituted the largest tractor suppliers to Belarus, together comprising 77% of total imports. Belgium, France, Sweden, Poland, China, Lithuania, Japan and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.
Among the main suppliers, Japan, with a CAGR of +13.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average tractor import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 24% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, tractor import price increased by +71.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 42% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the price for Japan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
