The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, passenger car tyre exports amounted to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 48% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Russia (X units) was the main destination for passenger car tyre exports from Belarus, with a 58% share of total exports. Moreover, passenger car tyre exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Ukraine (X units), threefold. The Netherlands (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 4.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Russia stood at +3.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (+6.7% per year) and the Netherlands (+216.1% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for tyres for motor cars exports from Belarus, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ukraine ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia totaled -2.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (+2.7% per year) and the Netherlands (+214.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average passenger car tyre export price amounted to $X per unit, surging by 4.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Belarus
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of tyres for motor cars, when their volume increased by 15% to X units. In general, imports enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, passenger car tyre imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted a remarkable increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X units) constituted the largest passenger car tyre supplier to Belarus, with a 47% share of total imports. Moreover, passenger car tyre imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), fourfold. Serbia (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia totaled +16.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+10.2% per year) and Serbia (+38.5% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tyres for motor cars to Belarus, comprising 47% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Korea ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Serbia, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia stood at +14.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (+9.6% per year) and Serbia (+38.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average passenger car tyre import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 26% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while the price for Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
