In 2021, the Belarusian passenger car tyre market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 30% against the previous year. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia totaled -2.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (+2.7% per year) and the Netherlands (+214.0% per year).

In 2021, the average passenger car tyre export price amounted to $X per unit, surging by 4.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of tyres for motor cars, when their volume increased by 15% to X units. In general, imports enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, passenger car tyre imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted a remarkable increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while the price for Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
