Imports into Belarus
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons, when their volume increased by 51% to X tons. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 624% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 456%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons imports to Belarus, with a combined 64% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the UK, which accounted for a further 1.8%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the UK (with a CAGR of +59.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons to Belarus, comprising 38% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Lithuania ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 7.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Russia amounted to -20.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Lithuania (-12.3% per year) and Italy (+19.8% per year).

In 2021, the average unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons import price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 22% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a deep reduction. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
