In value terms, exports of wood pulp, excluding mechanical wood pulp reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 37,475%. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
Exports by Country
China (X tons) was the main destination for exports of wood pulp, excluding mechanical wood pulp from Belarus, accounting for a 54% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of wood pulp, excluding mechanical wood pulp to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Russia (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Serbia (X tons), with an 8.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to China amounted to +149.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (+111.7% per year) and Serbia (+25.8% per year).

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of wood pulp, excluding mechanical wood pulp decreased by -57.8% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports saw a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 76%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced notably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of wood pulp, excluding mechanical wood pulp declined rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 66%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
