The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Russia (X tons) was the main destination for wrapping papers exports from Belarus, with a 57% share of total exports. Moreover, wrapping papers exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Poland (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Ukraine (X tons), with an 8.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Russia totaled -7.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (+44.7% per year) and Ukraine (-16.1% per year).

The average wrapping papers export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 15% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, wrapping papers export price increased by +48.3% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 19% against the previous year. In 2021, overseas purchases of wrapping paper, packaging paper and paperboard decreased by -15.7% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -16.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In general, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
